David Smith

Working Surface: Painting, Sculpture and Drawing 1932-1963

Working Surface highlights Smith's transcendence of the traditional boundaries between media and celebrates his mastery of color, texture, and surface in more than forty works that span his entire career, from his first constructions in the early 1930s to his mature masterworks of the 1960s.

Galerie Gmurzynska presents the following exhibition together with the Estate of David Smith, New York at the Stiftung Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum's International Center of Sculpture in Duisburg, Germany with the support of the Ministerpräsident of the Land Nordrhein-Westfalen.
